Symbol editing mode assigns whatever layer color it wants

New Here ,

A very frustrating issue with using symbols is once you enter symbol editing mode, it seems to assign whatever layer color it wants, ignoring the layer color in the layer options panel. You can set it while in symbol editing mode, but it reverts back as soon as the symbol editing mode is closed. When illustrator arbitrarily assigns a color like black or yellow as a layer color when in object editing mode, it makes it very difficult to see paths that you're editing. Any workaround or scripts for this oversight?

Bonjour,

La solution est de ne pas utiliser le mode d’édition des symboles.

Why would you not use that?

Every time when editing a symbol you will be using it automatically.

The solution is to just not use it? Thanks for the helpful reply in the original language of the post.

Certainly it's not the solution you were looking for.

René's suggestion is just a valid workaround. And you asked for a workaround as per your last sentence in the initial post.

Not sure about your potshot about the "original language". Can't you use the "Translate" button in case you don't understand the answer?

Why would you expect anyone to help you if you're rude to the first person who tries?
