Hi, could anyone please tell me what is the difference between instance name on the control panel and symbol name on symbol panel?

Correct answer tromboniator

You might have, say, sixteen instances of the symbol "Button" on your artboard. The Layers panel would then have:

Button

Button

Button

Button

Button

Button

Button

(and so on),

so you might want to rename them

N

NNE

NE

ENE

E

ESE

SE

SSE

S

or something else that conveniently identifies each of these identical items. So each would show its own identification when selected, but you still have the information that it is an instance of one particular symbol. The Control panel shows you both. I hope this makes sense.
