Hello, new to Illustrator and this is my first posting so apologies for my lack of knowledge. I am having an issue with text not staying in alignment. I have attached 2 screen shots. First one is from ai. The second is from the place I'm submitting my file to. When they open it, this is what it looks like. What am I doing wrong? Greatly appreciate the help!

Looks like they opened a .pdf in Illustrator and do not have the fonts.

Save a copy of your file, and add _ol to the end of the filename.

Then select all and do a type >> Create Outlines

Save this a .pdf and they will not need the fonts

as to why your AZ is not the same proportion is hard to say unless we can see your original file.

What format are you sending, and what software are they using to open it?

MadMerch,

I am afraid there is (much) more to it than just font substitution. Apart from the narrowest font being substituted by the widest, the uploaded AZ width to height ratio is only about two thirds that of the original.

Maybe you should send the set and ask them about it.

Looks like they don't have the fonts.

Don't you send them a PDF with embedded fonts?

And don't they open that with Acrobat?

I did send a PDF as well, but I will go back and ask. Thank you!

You could always create a new copy, outline the fonts and send that, if needs be.
