Text on a Path - Handles?

Hi, I'm using Illustrator 26.0.3 and having issues using the "Text on a path" tool. I'm not getting the handles that allow me to move the text along the path, as I have used in previous versions of Illustrator. To best see what I'm seeing, pleas look at the attached screen cap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So nothing happens when you just go ahead and move them regardless if you see them or not?

Yes, as I said the handles disappear as soon as you try to click on them to move.

Did you recently update Illy? A prefs reset might help.

You can change size of handles etc in prefs...
