Text tool Illustrator doesn't work

Hey,

When i started working in illustrator today, the type tool doesn't work anymore.

I can select but after i try to type anything. Illustrator doesn't respond anymore the only thing that changes is the layer name. But the text won't appear on the screen. I already reinstalled illustrator. Does anybody know a fix?

Can you please share a screenshot that includes the complete interface including the layers and appearance panel?

I also got an error after i took the screenshot and  got back at illustrator

You are zoomed out at 16% and it's just one letter at 12 Pt. Are you really sure that there is no text? It could be tiny.

Yeah i'm sure there is nothing there, i did try zooming in after it started responding again

Did you already reboot the computer and reset the preferences (this will erase your settings)
