The Brush Strokes - The big file size problem

Hello,

I am fighting with a huge problem. I created the set of the vector stroke brushes. I saved them and I have noticed that the file size is huge - around 450 MB.

I tried to reduce the artboard size, the strokes too. I simplified the strokes, tried also pencil + alt, cleaned stray points.

Could you, please, advise me, what to do in this situation? 🙂

Thank you. Petra

It looks like your brushes are made with lots and lots of points.

Unless you can reduce the number of points in your brushes, there is not much you can do about the file size.

After simplifying the appearance was very different, there was missing the "texture effect" , it looked like a simple stroke.

Maybe there is some special method, because I saw various types of the brush strokes, and the size of the file was not so big.

Maybe you can inspect those brushes to see how they are build.

I have found the similar one, and also has a lot of points, less than mine, but it looks like the image trace result, than original vector brush. This is really mysterious...

If other files work then maybe they have been saved without "PDF comptibility"

Due to the small sized preview I do not know how you have colored the brushes fill, it's just several brushes building those tonalities or have you use some filling with e.g. free gradients?

Sometimes brushes are turned into compund paths and used as clipping paths of filled objects or pictures.

I created my own 1 brush and this brush I used repetitively. I did not use any gradient, I just created that effect by various different colors that I drew into the stroke, so every brush stroke is a clip group. The one brush stroke has 1338722 pts.

I am confused how to solve this problem...

I am afraid you have to live with the filesize when using these kind of brushes.

Or, if possible, see if rasterizing the result at a high enough resolution makes the file smaller.
