Hi,

I'm trying to use a script in illustrator and I keep getting the following message when I try to open the extended scripts toolkit.

'The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.'

The OS I'm using is Catalina and I have Adobe CC.

thanks

Are you trying to "run" a script or "edit" it? To run the script you don't need ESTK. Just put the script in:
/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CC 2015.3/Presets.localized/en_US/Scripts and run directly from the AI>File>Scripts Menu.

Hi,

Yes I'm just trying to run the script. I have done all that but when I go to the scripts menu to export the file the application doesn't respond which leads to me having to quit.

Can you post a link to the script?

Here's an article with more detail of the situation:

The ESTK is no longer being updated by Adobe as far as I understand, and can't run on anything newer than OS 10.14.

If you need specific functionality of the ESTK, apparently some is available from this plugin for Visual Studio Code, but that's about all I can find out:

Great thank you!

I guess my only option is to go back to OS 10.14?

It depends what you need to do. If your needs are simple edits, then any text editor will do.
