I have the 2015.3 version of Adobe Illustrator and am having issues. I want to use the pencil tool to create paths and the paint bucket tool to fill in shapes but neither are present on my tool bar on the left side of the page. How do I get these tools to appear? Please help!!!

    Hi Sophie

I’m going to assume you are new to Illustrator 2015 (2017 is out now by the way, as of last week) so you might have missed a few new tools. The pencil tool is no longer a top tool in the tool panel, it is hidden under the shaper tool, which looks like a piece of chalk drawing a circle. The paint bucket (really the Live Paint Bucket) is hidden under the shape-builder tool. harder to describe so I’ll attach some screen shots.

Some tools have little triangle in the bottom right corner. Click and hold these tools to show the hidden tools.

Please refer to the documentation to learn more about the interface.
