Threaded text formatting problem Illustrator

I need help fixing the formatting of text threaded to a new column.The end of the first column is adding a paragraph break automatically, and the second column is not showing the hanging indent format. Is there a trick to this? Illustrator CC on Mac OS. Thanks!

Hello Monika, I'm using the Illustrator CC 24.2.3 on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6.

Below is a screenshot of the formatting issue. The first line in the 2nd column is set as a hanging indent but not showing correctly.
