Why aren't there timelines in Illustrator and InDesign like there is in PhotoShop?

Because Illustrator and InDesign just do their job of making vector illustrations or page layouts, unlike Photoshop, which has had all manner of half-baked additions to make it things like a video editor or a 3D tool. (Well, Adobe have seen the light and removed the 3D tool. Surely it won't be long before Photoshop also loses its timeline and video tools).

Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd recommend sharing your suggestions about product improvement on Adobe Illustrator UserVoice. Product team would be happy to look into it.

Regards,

Ashutosh
