Is it possible in Illustrator CS6 or CC to produce tint bands such as those shown in the attached map, please?
Not sure exactly what is meant by "tint bands", but if the map already has a relief texture into it, you could draw shapes over the countries on the map and fill them with a solid color that is set to a blend mode in the transparency panel. The best blend mode would depend on whether the file is CMYK or RBG. Multiply mode instead of Normal mode would probably work well. Then to add the deeper color along the edges of the countries on the map an Effect > Stylize > Inner Glow of a deeper color co
