To copy object, alt + drag function is essential... but it is not working.

• The Windows key typically has the Windows logo on it. Your key does not. When you tap and release, the Start menu appears. What happens when you tap and release?
• The function key typically has an Fn on it. Your key does not. Notice that, for instance, my F7 key also has a brightness icon. Holding the function key with F7 does the opposite of what F7 alone does.
  
  On macOS, changing the default to the icons or to the standard function keys is built into the OS, so it's always in the same place and easy to find.
  
  On Windows OS, it is not built into the OS, so you have to find out how to change it on your laptop with your manufacturer. Notice that my Fn key says Fn+Esc+padlock. That's my shortcut to switch, but I had to look it up for my laptop.

If your key isn't either a Windows key or a Function key, you will have to look it up for your laptop (which you didn't tell us.)

This is not an Illustrator question, by the way.
