Toggle GPU/Outline/CPU along with isolation issues

I have an image

I had to count these shapes, so I added text to the shapes. However, I have now made my image a white screen with the numbers and no image. I have tried toggling my outline GPU/CPU as has been advised. However, I can only see the picture in isolation mode. So I have the image above isolated and then a white screen, like, so

Please help
