Question

Toolbar Customization

Hello! I just wanted to say that I love most of the new updates for Photoshop , Illustrator, etc. but I feel like the Tool Bar needs some color. Not sure if that can be done but it would be pretty cool to color code some of your tools in the Toolbar and just add a little more color to the interface of these design programs.  Thxs! 😉

Those icons once were colored. Some of  the rationale behind the icon design can be found in the following links (all in German, but you can toggle subtitles resp use translate tools and I hope you'll get the meaning):

If you really like your Tools panel idea, make a feature request: https://illustrator.uservoice.com

There are similar features in other Adobe applications. An example, you can color code Menu Commands in InDesign.

There is no option to add color to the toolbar. A long time ago I suggested Adobe use red rather than bold on certain items like the transparency palette to better show whether you are in art or mask mode, but they prefer a clean interface.

The only thing you can do to the toolbar, is to change what items show there by clicking here.

And unchecked what you do not want to see

You can change the brightness here, but not color.
