Toolbar disappears when clicked

Hi all,

Since updating to Mac OS 14.1 (23B74). Whenever I click on the toolbar in Illustrator or Photoshop it disappears and also goes to the finder. Does anyone else have the same problem?

Kind regards,

Steve

Same issue. I reinstalled Illustrator and Photoshop and reset preferences before seeing this post. Waiting for a fix.

Hi @Steve25219687xhr4 @simonmountney @garyv9917596 @Annie32749325mzru @wendyh78079779,

I apologize for the inconvenience you're facing with Illustrator's behavior on macOS 14.1. It appears that this issue is related to changes in the macOS update.

We are aware of this problem, and a bug has been logged with Apple. Our team is actively working with them on resolving it.

In the meantime, a potential workaround is to enable the application frame.
Also, if you turn on the application frame, undock the toolbar by pulling it away from the frame, and then turn the application frame back off, that will work as well.

However, I understand that this might not be an ideal solution.

Additionally, you can upvote this issue on UserVoice (https://adobe.ly/47gDidc) to receive updates on its status and any potential fixes.

We appreciate your patience as we work to address this problem. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask. Thank you for your understanding.

Best,

Hi Steve. I'm having the same problem as well. I will point out that it doesn't necessarily go to the Finder, it goes to whatever file or program may be underneath the toolbar.

Photoshop 2023 and 2024 have this issue on my new Mac Studio that I received last week. My old iMac does not have this issue with Photoshop.

Hopefully Adobe will fix this issue soon as I don't enjoy using the Application Frame either.

This is happening to me, too. I have been using the Application Frame method but, like Steve, for me, it's not ideal.
Hopefully, a fix is issued for this problem, soon.

I have just tried it with the Application frame and it doesn't disappear. Not ideal as I don't really like the Application Frame on.
