Trace images in batch

Community Beginner ,

Hello, I got tons of gif files that I need to trace using a specific preset. Is there any way I can trace multiple placed images inside an illustrator document? I read you can do this using Bridge, but the batch trace option under Tools menu is not there. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

The only way to do this is through Bridge. It can call an AI Image Trace Preset for a batch process while AI cannot. Don't ask me why.

Thanks – do you know why I don't have that option in Bridge? I am using CC 2017

It's not listed under Tools > Illustrator?

No, i dont have those options (Photoshop  -  Illustrator) there. May be because I am using Illustrator CC 2015 and Bridge is latest?

I did that, nothing change. I think I'll need to grab illustrator cc 2017?

That was the first solution on that post—upgrade and the link showed how.

The alternative was to copy/paste the Adobe Illustrator Automation [version] folder into the correct location, and then close down and restart Bridge.
