trackpad zoom issues

Explorer ,
Aug 21, 2023 Aug 21, 2023

Hi guys, been having issues with the apple magic trackpad for over a year. For some reasons after hopping windows, or simply working for a while, the zoom in by pinch doesnt work anymore. I have to spam the cmd + or cmd - to make it work again. It still works in every other app opened, not a major issue but still breaks my workflow. anyone knows a fix to this?

Thank you

The trackpad just sucks. I've got one as well. It just stops working out of the blue (and not only in Illustrator).

There are countless threads in forums all over the place about that. I miss the trackpad from my 2014 Macbook so much. The one on the M1 Macbook sucks in all possible ways.

Someone has coded a fix. But use this at your own risk (I don't use it, so I can't tell if it works)

There's a reason that this fix exists and that is surely not my personal Macbook.

I thought you meant you were using a magic trackpad aswell. The issue is really not on my m1 macbook air trackpad, its working fine on other apps. I also encounter this issue using my magic trackpad i bought for my mac mini. Its only a weird behaviour inside illustrator for every devices i use in my case .

My M1 Macbook is a Pro and it doesn't behave like pro at all where the trackpad is concerned. That trackpad is too large and it just fails regularly. I have one of those Magic trackpads, but I'm not a fan of them anyway, so I always have to remember to bring my mouse (which is not an Apple mouse either, because Apple did not produce a usable mouse for the last 20 years).

With my trusty old 2014 Macbook I didn't have such issues either. That trackpad was a workhorse. This M1 just sucks all around. The only thing I like about it is the Magsafe plug.
