Transferring drawings from Gimp to Adobe Illustrator

New Here ,
Apr 14, 2017 Apr 14, 2017

Hello!

Currently I'm working on creating a logo for some friends of mine. I've just started using illustrator and have a lot to learn. I've used a similar program, Gimp, for several months now and have the following question: Can I draw and color the logo in Gimp, for so to transfer it to illustrator where I can fix anything with vector graphics and so on? Because it's going to be pressed on clothes later.

Thank you!

GIMP is a raster editing software.

Are you drawing with GIMP's vector drawing tools? If you do, then you could export an SVG file from GIMP and then open it in Illustrator and according to the GIMP manual you should be able to get paths out of GIMP.

If you're painting in GIMP and expecting to be able to be able to convert this into vector paths by pure magic, ou should definitely rethink your procedure.
