Transform FX in numbers, not in %

Hello,

Is there an equivalent to the Transform FX (in Appearance panel, under FX, Distort & Transform>Transform) but where I could specify the vertical and horizontal Scale components in numbers (like points or inches) instead of percentage (%).

This is for CS4. Thanks.

Hi cinziamarotta. I realise that but the Transform panel is not like an FX where you can enter a value and later, alter it, return to the original value, or simply turn that FX off. The values in the Transform panel would be "permanent" and I don't want that.

Please describe in detail for what kind of object you would need that.

There are no transform effects that provide this, but in case it's just a rectangle you could use the shape effect.

Hi Monika. Sadly, it's just short of a rectangle. It's a rectangle from which I remove one side. So it becomes an open object, which looks like a "U".

Alternatively, I could work with a rectangle too if I could set the stroke of one of the sides separately from the other three. But I don't think that's possible.
