I was making an artwork normally and wanted to make a '3d effect' to an already made text. I used the pen tool to make start anchor point but it just wouldnt snap to the corner of the character.
The two anchor points just dont overlap.
Then i found out. I couldnt add a new sublayer to the group which im editing.
The Purple cross shows the group which i want to insert new layer in, But when i create a new layer it is created outside and when i try to drag it into the group i get a
cursor.
Please Help.

What i mean to say is... Look at the first picture.
The green highlights show 2 anchor points of two different layers/object. The first layer is the one i made before. The 2nd layer/path is what im trying to make. But when using the pen tool the anchor points of the previous layer and the path im tryung to make dont intersect. What do i do so that it intersects and fits fully?

You can solve your snapping problem by choose a snap option from View>Snap to (option)
in your case Snap to Point
