Unable to change colors

My entire document has everyting in the colors I want, however if i want to change them, I can't. everything in the document says its white and has a black stroke. How do I fix this? Recolor didnt work.

Can you please show the Layer panel with the layer open and the object selected?

Its the same for every object

The "S" and the "D" both have something applied at the group level as well as the object level. Try selecting the S and ungroup it. What does it show now?

it ended up crashing and is now working again, thank you for attempting to help
