Unable to Copy-Paste content from one Illustrator file to another.

I have Adobe Illustrator CC with me. Whenever I try to paste some vector from one file to another, it is pasted in all digits. I mean only numbers/digits are pasted up. I have been facing this issue since the last 2-3 days. Please guide.
