This is my first time using illustrator. I have three jpeg infographics that I'm working on that was created from a former team memeber. I was told that they used illustrator to create the documents. So that I wouldnt have to reinvent the wheel, I decided to purchase and download illustator, but have been unable to edit any of the documents.
This process is frustrating, and I have watched numerous videos on editing and nothing is working.
Any suggestions???

Well, they are JPEGs. If you want to edit them, you will need the original AI files.

Illustrator doesn't edit JPEG's. The former team member used Illustrator to set the type and produce the layouts. Presumably, they also saved (somewhere), the working files in Illustrator's native .AI format prior to export or conversion to JPEG. As Doug already rightly stated, you would need those .AI files for editing.
