Question

Unable to find/ locate Rotate Canvas tool in Tool Menu and access it using shift + H in Illustrator

For the life of me I can not find the Rotate canvas tool in illustrator. I have searched my tool panel options and it is not showing (I have all the tool selected and showing in my advanced tool bar).
I have gone through my preferences and can not find an enable disable option for it either.

If I try to use the shortcut key (Shift + H) i just get the hand tool and not option to rotate my canvas.

I am using a cloud account on a PC

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • OS and version of Illustrator
  • When was the last time you were able to use this tool?
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.
  • Does resetting Illustrator Preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) help to resolve the issue?
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

Also, you may try running the app in Safe Mode and check if shift + h works there. It starts your system to perform certain checks and prevent third-party software/ services from automatically loading or opening.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
