Unable to fit artboard to artwork bounds

I have this file that contains invisible shapes or paths that only show up when I move the mouse across the document. (see video)  I am unable to click and select these shapes.  These objects must be the reason I cannot automatically fit artboard to artwork bounds.  Does anybody know how to get rid of them?

It may be that the shapes have no fill and no stroke. If that is the case, you can select them by clicking on the edge of the shape (not inside the shape).

You should be able to see them more easily by choosing View > Outline. That will give you a view of the outlines of all shapes, even those with no fill or stroke. In Outline view you need to click on the edge of the shape in order to select it.

It is possible that the objects are locked, but is more likely that they just don't have any color. If they are locked you can choose Object > Unlock All.

Outline view enabled me to see all shapes in the document.  Thank you very much for your help!
