Hi @Gankie, thank you for sharing the details. I understand how frustrating it must be not being able to move placed images, especially when everything else seems to be working fine.
If you’re running any desktop management apps like Magnet or Rectangle, they can sometimes interfere with Illustrator’s behavior. Try closing them while using Illustrator or exclude Illustrator from these apps.
You could also try running Illustrator in Safe Mode to see if that helps. This can rule out any third-party conflicts.

Sometimes it happens with me when the view accidnetly switched to CPU preview .
you may try pressing ( cmd + E on Mac ) , ( ctrl + E on windows ) to switch to GPU preview
