Unable to open Adobe Illustrator Artwork 26.0 files in Illustrator 2022

Since Illustrator updated to 2022, none of the files created in a previous version (2021) will open. The files all have a small grey "x" on them in file manager. I use a Windows OS, not Mac OS.

Have no problems saving files created in 2022 and have not experienced any other issues other than this one.

Hi @oncidium29375847gkl7,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing the same issue. We need to know more about the specific issue you're encountering to provide a tailored solution for the particular issue you may be facing. Would you mind providing more details about the issue, such as any error messages or location of the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)? Also, please confirm the exact version of OS & Illustrator. That way, we can better understand the problem and provide more specific guidance.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Hello @Toni5DB1,

Sorry for the late response and the problem you are facing. I hope the problem is solved by now. If not please confirm where these files are saved (Internal/External/Network drive or a shared folder)?

Generally, the X next to any file icon indicates that there is a problem with the file/shortcut. It seems the file might be on a network drive /service.

Kindly update the discussion if further assistance is required. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks,

Anubhav
