Unable to save files in Illustrator 2020 on mac OS Catalina

After updated to Illustrator 2020 and Catalina, I am unable to save any projects within illustrator. The buttons simply do nothing. I have tried everything. I have even reset to default my macbook pro. Still it won't work. I am at a loss. I have seen many say that the latest update would fix all the problems, but my issues persist.

Thankfully, this issue has been resolved. I reset my macbook to factory default.

Hi there,

 

So sorry to hear about this frustrating issue. In addition to the details asked by Monika, I would request if you can try booting the system into Safe Mode (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/global/start-safe-boot-mode-mac.html) and check how it works there. It starts your system so that it performs certain checks and prevents third party software/ services from automatically loading or opening. If it works fine in Safe mode, then there is some third party service or application like antivirus, plugins or web extensions which are conflicting with the Illustrator. 

Also, please confirm where the files are saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD)?

Is the issue related to a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the creative cloud and share the download link.

So you have version 24.0.3?

And you cannot save a file? When you do File > Save as, the dialog box doesn't appear? The file doesn't get saved? You get a warning?

Did you reset the preferences after installing?
