I am unable to view the artboard name that used to show up earlier on my Illustrator. Can someone help me fix that? Attached are two screenshots for better understanding.

And yesterday it was still working, but not today? Does it work in a new file?

Did you also try resetting the preferences?

And could you test if View > Preview on CPU improves it?

I tried resetting the preferences as well, no luck there too. Just tried View>Preview on CPU, but that also didn't work. 😞

Hello @31352924tuiw,

I understand that you're facing an issue with Adobe Illustrator where the artboard names are not displaying in the workspace. This issue has been persistent for about a month and hasn't been resolved even after reinstalling and resetting preferences.

To further troubleshoot this problem, you can try the following steps:

  • Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old & UXP to UXP.old from the following location:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • If that doesn't help either, uninstall the application using the CC Cleaner tool and reinstall it from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.
  •

Note: Location starting with this "~" sign indicates the User Library, which is hidden. So, you need to copy & paste the exact path in spotlight search or from Finder Menu > Go > Go to Folder > Paste the location in the dialog box like this:

  • Create a new admin user account on your Mac and see if the issue occurs there. If it doesn't, it could indicate that the problem is related to settings or preferences specific to your user account.

  • Try installing a previous version of Adobe Illustrator (e.g., version 27.7) to see if the issue is specific to version 27.8.1.

  • Create a new blank document in Illustrator and see if the issue occurs with a fresh file. This can help determine if the problem is document-specific or affects all files.

I hope one of these steps helps you resolve the issue with the missing artboard names. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini
