Unable to use gradient in a live paint group ?

Can't seem to have to work in newest illustrator version (2021) . This is REALLY screwing my workflow as i used to work in those 95% of the time with a ton of gradients and i don't want to break my group in order to be able to modify gradient on the fly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to edit the way a gradient fills an area that is part of a Live Paint group, first select that area with the Live Paint Selection Tool.

Yeah, i always use the good old shortcut 'shift+l' to quickly select live paint groups . At least from what you are saying it's not an option they removed or something, so a bug or a mysterious option that remain checked/unchecked is definitely there.

I'm not able to replicate this issue. You could try resetting preferences. You can do that in Preferences > General.

Did'nt worked. I can still manipulate a 'global' gradient that goes accross all live paint subdivisions(even there, the gradient annotator is not visible, even if it is set to be shown in the viewport options), but cannot control any individual chunks using gradients . I am using windows 10 if that can make a difference .

Once you select the gradient area of the Live Paint group with the Live Paint Selection tool, you can manipulate the gradient using the Gradient panel.
