Unable to Zoom using Cmd + spacebar in Illustrator on M1 Mac Mini Spotlight & Siri shortcut disabled

I know there have been some other threads about this but everything suggested does not work. Here is my situation:

- Brand new Mac Mini (M1 chip)

- Latest install of Illustrator (25.4.1)

- Spotlight and Siri keyboard shortcuts disabled

Command + Spacebar no longer bring up zoom. Been working this way for more than 20 years so having to use another shortcut will drive me nuts.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble. Could you please share which suggestion you have tried and on which threads? I would suggest you try running the app in Safe Mode and launch Illustrator only. Then, open any document, and try to zoom using the Cmd + spacebar keyboard shortcut. In Safe Mode, your system starts to perform certain checks and prevent third-party software/ services from automatically loading or opening. Let us know how it goes.

I will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Go through the list of all the running processes.

Could be antivirus of screensharing, Google Chrome or its plugins, banking software and everything that tries to enhance typing or shortcuts. And some other software.
