Unit designation keeps turning back to pixels

Hi, everytime I restart Illustrator the units keep switching back to pixels. I only use Millimeters and changed this a few times in preferences, but when I shut down the program and restart, it's back to pixels. This is only in de 2021 version, the 2020 keeps my preferences. Can this be fixed? Thanks in advance.

    It's adocument based setting.

    If you want Millimetres then you need to either select a different document preset when creating a new file or edit the document preset so that it works the way you want it to.

    Hi, thank you for your reaction. I also changed this often in the document settings, but it should work when you change it in preferences for all documents. At least it did in 2020. I have this problem with existing downloaded files (barcodes) which I have to set at a certain size in mm. It worked before, so I hope they can fix it in 2021 also.

    The settings in preferences are meant for documents that don't have their own units (such as pixel images that you open in Illustrator). If a file already has units, then that setting overrides the preferences.
