Hi,

I am having an issue of a spinning wheel on illustrator. Basically it wont open and it keeps crashing.

Is there any solution to this?

Thanks,

I did an adobe session on this issue, we found that my file had gotten corrupted because I was saving to my corporate marketing server. We solved the issue by copying the file to my desktop and working from there.

Well, I reinstalled and wiped my preferences and I'm back up and running, but there's no saying for how long. Hopefully, this will be enough...

I'm about ready to do an Adobe Session I guess. I'm on a deadline and my source of income can't keep not functioning for hours and days at a time. So frustrating.

Are you saving to a server? If you are, try saving to your Desktop.

I am using the latest version of Illustrator on a 2017 MacBook Pro. Just starting today, I cannot open any of my Illustrator files without the program freezing with the spinning "wheel of death." I have restarted my computer numerous times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times. I have cleared my preferences, yet nothing seems to work.

Will repost the link again since from my initial reply,  as appears people are responding and without resetting the OOBE.

Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app doesn't open or shows a spinning progress wheel

See solution #5.

  • Quit the Creative Cloud desktop app from the gear icon in the upper-right corner.

  • Browse to the following location based on your operating system.
    • Mac OS: /Users/<user folder>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
Note: The \Users\<user folder>\Library\ is hidden by default after 10.7. See Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 and later for instructions on accessing it.
    • Windows: C:\Users\<user folder>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Note: The AppData is hidden with Windows default settings. See Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows for instructions to show it.

  • Delete the entire contents of the OOBE folder.

  • Restart the computer and launch the Creative Cloud desktop app again.Note: The app can take slightly longer than usual to load with this solution, as content in the OOBE folder is rebuilt after launch.

You must quit the creative cloud app for this to work, otherwise your .db files remain unchanged, which is often but not always the culprit for spinning wheel.

I quit out of the Creative Cloud app and it's still saying I have my .db files open in creative cloud. I can't delete them.

I'm having the same problem. I'm using Illustrator 2017. I was using it when it suddenly closed and now it won't open again. When I try to open it the Adobe Application Manager keeps opening and then I get the spinning wheel and a "please wait for a moment..." message but nothing happens.

Now I can't open my Photoshop 2017 either.
