Using Adobe Stock vectors, can't export transparent image

Hello! I am struggling to understand why this won't work. I have never used Illustrator CC, but in CS6, this was easily done. I have uploaded the vector I got from Adobe (.ai). If you open it and delete the grey/white check layer, it revels the mechanics of how the author made the gold appearance. If I export, I get that (.png upload). How in the world do I just export a clean, transparent version of the triangle to use in my logo?
