When I use pathfinder to unite two shapes it makes the shape 0,0002 mm smaller... its so little it doesnt really matter, I know, but I'm doing a 3d-lasercuting job with a lot of rectangles and this little glitchy behaviour adds hours to my work.
It doesn't matter if theres a 0,0002mm gap when I glue the pieses together, but it's causing workflow problems.

You could try and adjust precision in the pathfinder options.
There is no snapping turned on, right?

Oh, never tried those settings! Thanks I'll check them. But it seems unlikely to me that pathfinder would change the object like that without there being a bug.
I found some threads on the forced pixel snap. Have tried toggling it on and of and restarting a couple of times and the problem seems to have gone away, or at least taken a break.
Yes, point snapping was on. Smart guides off I think.
