I have recently downloaded a vector illustration from adobe stock which has a number of images shown, which i was hoping to use parts of for a project. However i cannot edit the image, as it acts like a jpg file as a single layer.
How can i manipulate the image to extract the parts wanted?
Ben,
In addition to what Doug said, you may find (in the Layers palette) that there are some Clipping Masks (maybe hidden in Group(s)) or something which may need to be released/ungrouped/whatever.

what file type is it? did you open the file directly in illustrator, or place it? how does it appear in the layers panel when you select it? if you open the links palette, can you see anything there? if so, what does it tell you about the object(s)?

I have managed to get it split up into the parts now. I am not entirely sure what i did, but it works. Been a while since used illustrator. Remember how much i love it!!! once i find my way around the new features.
Thanks Guys
