Has anybody encountered any glitches with the relatively new vertical type alignment feature? I've been using it to centre text in a type area but have subsequently had a, seemingly random, corruption issue with just some of the files. The type areas have now converted to multiple paths, splitting the words:
I have tested the feature on 2 different systems/Illustrator installations (with latest updates installed) and by applying the same formatting to the exactly the same file/type area. Sometimes on saving/reopening the results are fine but other times this corruption has occurred.
Anbody encountered the same problem or have any ideas what could be causing it?
NB: I have noticed something strange, in that the Text Area Options settings should state "Align > Vertical:" but actually states "Align > Horizontal" on my systems (though selecting still changes the vertical alignment).

I did the sample work. But I did not encounter a problem.
I saved Illustrator PDF, when I opened it again, it opened without any problems. Maybe, this document, which is saved in the upper version AI, can be created if opened in a lower version AI.
It is not possible for me to encounter this problem when the document saving format is Illustrator.

Thanks for your reply & testing.
The files were created in the same version of Illustrator. However, on further investigation, I've found that my client may have pieced them together from various previous sources - possibly pasting in sections from legacy AI versions. So, if any of these earlier elements were inadvertandly edited, the files may have reverted to basic formatting, which I presume wouldn't handle the new vertical alignment feature used elsewhere in the files.
Though that still doesn’t explain the “Align Horizontal” / “Align Vertical” conflict in my settings.
