Question

Weird jagged edges on curved vectors in Illustrator on Windows (Surface Pro 4)

Hello,

I've had this issue for a while now. I don't expereience it on any other computer so I know it's only this one, or at least the settings. Basically I have a Surface Pro 4, and when I use illustrator I get weird jagged edges on curved vectors like text for example. I have attached a screenshot to show what I mean. Why does it do this and what can I do to fix it?

I have attempted:

  • A reboot
  • Uninstall/Reinstall of Illustrator
  • Used the same file on other computers and works fine
  • Resetting all settings

Thank You!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this issue. As mentioned above, this is a display issue and will be fixed with GPU update. I would request if you can close all Adobe applications and reinstall the Graphic Card driver from the manufacture's website (do not use DVDs/CDs). For example, if you have an NVIDIA graphic card, install drivers from https://www.nvidia.in/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-in

If you need our help doing that, please head here (https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html) and select the chat button in the lower-right corner of the page. We can help via live remote session that way.

Regards,

Srishti

This is an incompatibility between the graphics card and Adobe Illustrator. Check for an update to the graphics card software. In the meantime, go to the View menu > View using CPU.
