Weird Vector Appearing When Text Bounding Box Size is Adjusted

I've created text within a bounding box so that when the text is edited, the bounding box adjusts to the text size. I'm using a rounded corner as a bounding box, however when I increase the rounded corners, a weird bit of vector sticks out only on 1 side (left side of my attached image). Any idea how to get rid of it?

How did you make this? Can you show the layers panel and the Appearance panel?

Do you have multiple points on top of each other? Check by moving with the direct selection tool.
