what glyph font for mathematical symbols

I need to write mathematical symbols with Illustrator.

When I go to the Glyph panel, I see a big list of fonts. Could you give me a list of font that are showing a complete list of mathematical symbols ?

Illustrator does not have any fonts (exeption for UI fonts and the default Myriad).

Illustrator uses fonts installed on your system and activated Adobe fonts.

I have understood that Illustrator uses fonts installed on my system.

So, by example, if I use the font "ABC" to write a symbol, and if I send my illustrator file to another people : if this another people has not the font "ABC" installed on his system, he will not see the symbol I wrote with the font "ABC".

Is that correct ?

That is correct, but if the ABC font is an Adobe Font, it can be (automatically) activated when the Illustrator file is opened. Other fonts have to be installed.

But when a PDF file is generated (for print, view or comment) the font will be embedded in the file.

What operating system is your computer running? Windows or Mac OSX? Windows includes a font called Cambria Math. As far as I can tell it includes a pretty complete set of math symbols. Other math oriented fonts can be downloaded and installed free, such as Noto Sans Math at the Google Fonts website. Accessing the symbols in Illustrator is probably easiest by using the Glyphs palette.
