That green button doesn't move and doesn't disappear.

On Mac OS this green icon usually appears when you drag and drop objects, text, folders, files etc. between different applications or between different documents in one application. It indicates that the dragged objects can now be dropped.

If the icon is there permanently, I suppose it is just a harmless refresh/redraw issue on screen.

Does it show up in other apps? I do not recognize that as being a part of anything related to Illustrator. A plugin of some sort? Something related to the operating system?

Thank you for your answer. I don't use other apps with green buttons. So I still don't know what that green button is, but I can't see it after turning it off and on.

I am of the same opinion. Have you already restarted your computer? Is the green button still there?

Looks like a monitor issue. As said above, the first step is to restart your comp.

Oh, I see. I didn't know, but thank you for answering!
At first, I thought it was a new feature in the illustrator.
