Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. In addition to the suggestion share by @Monika Gause, you may use the Image Trace feature in Illustrator to convert images in vector (Select image > Object > Image Trace > Expand). Then you can add effects or manipulate as per your liking to make it look realistic. Also, I would suggest you see these couple of YouTube tutorials on how to use image trace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRAUGEHIEng) and make your art look more realistic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADnD7mxqkvA).

Let us know if you need any further assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you for checking out these tutorials. In this first YouTube tutorial I shared, the YouTuber explains how to use different Image trace options for different purposes. In your case, I would recommend you to use high-fidelity, low fidelity, or 16-bit color options to trace your image. By doing this, your basic work is done. Now you can manipulate any aspect of that image which is now in a vector form. Now you can change color or resize any part of the image and add effects to make it look more realistic. In the second YouTube tutorial, I shared the YouTuber explains how to use color, highlights, shadow, light direction to make the Illustration look realistic. And as @Monika Gause mentioned, all this depends on your skills. Also, it depends on your Illustrator skills. There are various techniques that you can use to make realistic illustrations, such as the Gradient mesh technique, using brushes, using the pen tool.

Additionally, you can also use the Photoshop app as well. Here is a YouTube tutorial you can check out (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQuBAqpFtj4&t=4s).

Let us know if you need any further assistance. We'd be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards,

That depends on your drawing skills (and somewhat your hardware).

Skilled artists can draw these with a tablet and the pnecil tool.

You could still try with the pencil tool and then adjust afterwards.

To fill it, use the live paint tool.
