What is the OLD file extension for an Illustrator Library?

I've made several libraries from previous versions not using ".cclibs" that were saved to my desktop. What was the old extension?

Thanks.

The default libraries on Windows are stored at Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2023\Presets

User-created libraries should be kept at Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 27 Settings

There are folders in each for swatches, graphic styles etc. Storing in the latter location means files will be available under Window > [Whichever] Library > User Defined, and will persist between versions if you choose to import previous settings when updating.

Are you referring to CC libraries?

Other libraries are just AI files.

Do you know where those ai files are stored?

They can be stored anywhere on your computer.

If you want to know the default location, just save a new library and take a look at it.
