I did that. However, the animation in my .gif isn't displayed when I view the (output) PDF. How do I get the animation to play?

1. Make the PDF in Illustrator with a space or poster.

2. Open in Acrobat Pro and add the graphic.

3. You might not be able to use this exotic format for movies in Acrobat, and might have to convert to a supported format in Premiere, After Effects or whatever. It will get much, much bigger.

4. Understand the movie will work only in Adobe PDF viewers on computers. Not in most browsers. Not in most email apps. Not on mobiles and phones.

The animated GIF will play when you save or export as SVG. Just in case you want to display the file on a web page.
