When sharing a cloud document custom font doesn't work

I'm sharing an Illustrator file with a client via link.

My problem: the custom font used has changed into a default font in the preview, even though it works in the app and is installed on the Cloud. What is strange is that when I open the version timeline (same link), all versions actually show the correct font.

Has this happened to anyone? It's driving me up a wall, I've googled for ages and can't find what the problem is.

I think I have seen similar posts in this forum, but cannot find them anymore. So you are not sending this file to the client for editing, just sharing for review?

Can you try the following until someone comes up with a better idea: apply the Effect > Path > Outline object to the text object. The text stays editable with this (at least for you). Does that work?

Hi, exactly! It's only for them to see the design and add comments to it (it's multiple people adding them, not just one).

Your advice worked! Thank you SO much! You've saved me.

Glad you could solve it.

Before you output the final PDF for the printer, I would strongly advise you to delete the effect from the text, so that the text in the final PDF does not get outlined.
