I am looking to make a png file of our asphalt company's slogan and make it look metallic with the metal studs and matte finish. This is the example I am trying to emulate....does this font (Planet Kosmos) exist anymore? If not, does anyone know of a similar font that can be used as a substitute? Thanks!!

joshua17 You already know the name of the font, so why haven't you tried google?

First thing I did and the first link was where you could get the font.

1 Search 'Planet Kosmos font'

2 Result 'Planet Kosmos Font | dafont.com'

NB: The font is only free for personal use, you will need to contact the font designer 'mads@planet.dk' to see about using it for a commercial application.

I use Font Squirrel sometimes.

You can even upload a screen capture of a font and search for it!

I found a png image to download of the font I need from a few sites, but when I use it in Illustrator, I can't choose to 'create outline' because Illustrator treats it as an image instead of text.

Joshua

You can't use outline on images

You will need to install the font on your system and then restart Illustrator.

For example on Windows you download the font,

( make sure it's un zipped - if it isn't download free 7Zip and run that first)

right click and install.
