Hi there,
Sorry to hear about that. It seems your main renderer is Nvidia GPU. However, you can try a couple of steps to make sure that GTX 1660 Ti is used primarily in every app:
- Select "Manage 3D Settings" under 3D Settings.
- Click on the "Program Settings" tab > "select a program to customize" > Illustrator > Select the preferred graphics processor for this program > Integrated/ High Permonce/Global settings. Check one by one in which Illustrator runs fine.
I hope it helps!

Hi Anshul,
It should be Nvidia the 1660 Ti and as you sad that one is doing the job but still AI feels slow to me on my brand new laptop. Which has good enough power.
AMD ryzen 4800H
32GB RAM
1TB SSD
and the 1660 Ti so I dont see the reason why AI is not working smoothly.

Thanks for sharing the detailed laptop specs. Your laptop is no doubt is fast in CPU & storage regards. But I won't consider the 1660Ti Mobile/ Notebook GPU to be fast. In my personal opinion, it is an entry-level GPU, and it is almost 3 years old. So for normal & intermediate tasks, it should have no problem. But if your workflow is complex and you use a large canvas with effects, then there can be some performance issues.
I would like to know if you have tried the steps suggested above? Also, would you please share your workflow and which GPU driver you are using, Game Ready/ Studio driver? Is there a performance difference while using Studio or Game-ready driver?
I required more info. So, I can assist you accordingly.
I will be looking forward to your response.

Anshul Saini
