White border around exported PNG File in illustrator

I have been exporting a Png file in illustrator using the art optimised anti aliasing feature. I keep getting this white line around the edges of my png and it doesn't look appealing for the video I am putting the png over. Any help out there with information of how to get rid of this hairline border.

To add to the suggestions, export at 72 ppi or a multiple thereoff like 144, 288. 150 or 300 will calculate additional pixels that may result in fractional values and since a fractional pixel does not exist, additional pixels.

Experiencing a similar issue. I have a solid colour bloc that fits the artboard. I've tried extending the bloc beyond the artboard and only exporting the artboard but in small resolution (I need it for a background for a newsletter so it needs to be edge-free for repeating as a pattern) it keeps giving it a faint white edge. When I export it in higher resolution, it looks like the edge is gone.

 

Turned on Pixel Preview and it shows this grey edge on the left even though stroke is zero:

 

 

@Larry G. Schneider how do I "make sure that the image (...) is in whole pixels only"?

As was already mentioned in Ansul's answer above: "Ensure the X & Y and W x H values don't have a decimal value. "

    • Ensure your artboard size matches the dimensions of your artwork. If there is any extra space on the artboard, it might be exported as a white border.
    • Verify that no clipping masks or hidden objects are extending beyond the edges of your artwork.
    • Check for any hidden layers or objects that might be contributing to the white border.
    • Double-check your export settings in the "Save for Web" or "Export As" dialog. Ensure that you have selected the appropriate file format (PNG) and that you have set the background as transparent.
    • Ensure the X & Y and W x H values don't have a decimal value. Also, you can try setting the Reference Point as shown in the screenshot below

      Make sure that the image you are exporting is in whole pixels only and that it is located so that the edges are aligned to whole pixels on the grid.
