White speckles in display of black vector objects

I have image traced a black pen drawing I have, when I zoom into the detail there seems to be some white speckles that move when I zoom in and out. When I save as a PDF the black is solid but it's a pain to edit with as I dont know which white spots are embedded and which ones are not. Any solutions?

Charlie,

The moving about might suggest something unreal, which may be caused by GPU.

Just to make sure: is it also happening when you work in CPU rather than GPU (you can toggle between them with Ctrl/Cmd+E)?

Failing that, you can select one of the ailing black shapes and look in the Layers panel whether it is a simple path or a Compound one, or look in the Document Info with Objects and Selection only ticked and see whether it is only one path or several.

Or as Ton suggested.

Or you can just select each ailing path (set) and apply Pathfinder Unite without any examination.

I for one hope that you will report your findings.

Thanks Jacob and Ton! It was GPU. Thank you also for the pathfinder and preview settings which will no doubt be useful in the future.

Good to hear that, as Jacob suggested, it was a GPU preview artefact. GPU preview is faster than CPU, but often less accurate. In case of doubt, switch temporarely with CMD or Ctrl E.

Can you go to Outline Preview (Cmd Y) and check if they are tiny objects, if so delete them or retrace with different settings.

Can you perhaps point them out?

In an artwork like this it's difficult to tell what is intended and what is an issue.
