WHY 1 px = 0,0353 cm

Why 1 px = 0,0353 cm ... i thought that 1px = 0,26 cm .

Can i change it in Adobe Illustrator? 

Or can someone explain why is like this?

A pixel in Illustrator is a unit equivalent to a point. A point is 1/72 of an inch, or 0.353 cm.

A pixel would be 0.26 cm at 96 PPI. This may be the case in other software that uses pixels as fixed measurements.
